Jesus found me one bright morning As I stumbled down the road I had thought my hope had ended Then he freed me from my load
Many years have come and gone now Since I started on God's race And I must admit I've struggled More than once to keep the pace
For my eyes have seen the quitters And some others slowing down And the ones who started gladly Who now show a woeful frown
So I've let these things distract me They have cost me many spills Yet my Lord did not forsake me He sustained me through my ills
And there too have been some runners Who have come to bring me aid Who have helped to keep me running They're the ones who've never strayed
Like these victors help me run Lord One who'll hear the weak ones call One who'll stoop to help the fallen And not scold them when they fall
