Today there's a glorious peace in my heart
That assures me there's nothing to fear
Today I'll be able to stand and not fall
And in gratitude, I'll shed a tear

Today I will look to the left and the right
To see if there's one who's cast down
And I'll pray that my Savior will give me the words
To replace with a smile every frown

And I'll never forget that great day long ago
When a warm friendly hand was extended
When God sent to my side a true faithful friend
I was broken but now I am mended

There was one special servant who obeyed God that day
Who came rushing to this lonely beggar
Who was faithful in sharing God's life-giving Word
To him too, I'll be grateful forever
