You can't be blessed when you're selfish and cruel
When you care very little about others
You can't be blessed when you act like a mule
When you bully your sisters and brothers

You can't be blessed when you pattern your life
By any book that you find on the shelf
If you think that by these you can dodge any strife
Then you're only fooling yourself

You can't be blessed when God's voice you ignore
And in church you are constantly missing
You must listen to Him when He knocks on your door
You won't win when His voice you're dismissing

Even so please remember, for your joy Christ came down
Please be sure that your Lord wants to bless you
You can have of His joy, and your peace can abound
And the blessings of God will come get you
