Have you ever taken the time to reflect on the implications of our Lord's resurrection? Everything we hope and strive for depends on Christ and His resurrection. Paul wrote: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. (1 Cor 15:17-19) Can you see the importance of this divine truth? Without the resurrection, our faith would be of no effect. We would still be lost and hell-bound. There would be no hope beyond this life. We would have no hope of being reunited with our loved ones who have left this life before us. To sum it up, our earthly lives would have no real purpose. Life would be pretty bleak, don't you think? Thank God for the resurrection! Because Christ is alive, so is our faith. Because He lives, we are never alone or forgotten. Those of us who have felt peace and comfort in the midst of sickness, pain, or sorrow, know we received it from a living Christ.
